Russian-born baritone Rodion Pogossov currently holds American and Russian citizenship.
He joined the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera at the beginning of his career in the / season. He made his Carnegie Hall debut with The Metropolitan Opera Chamber Ensemble, singing Stravinskyâs Renard under the baton of James Levine, and the following season gave his first Carnegie Hall recital. From there, his outstanding career unfolded.
Now based in Cincinnati, he regularly sings the role of Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, as well as in Glyndebourne and at the MET. Other major operatic roles include: Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, which he has sung in numerous theatres across the world, including the Hamburg State Opera, Teatro Municipal de Santiago, Metropolitan Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Munich Bavarian Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre, Minnesota Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Teatro Comunale Pergolesi in Jesi and Canadian Opera.
